Clyde Waterfront

The Clyde Waterfront website promotes Scotland’s most significant urban renewal project and development opportunity

Clyde Waterfront is a £5.6 billion investment project along the Clyde, covering new housing, new office space, bridges, recreation and retail facilities. The project is a strategic partnership of the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow City Council, Renfrewshire Council and West Dunbartonshire Council..

The Brief:
To develop a website portal that would act as an information resource for all commercial and community audiences with a stake or interest in the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration. Web consultancy services were required to develop a sustainable SEO strategy to develop and retain visitor numbers to the site.

The Solution:
The lively and informative website portal adequately represents the thriving and exciting regeneration of the Clyde. The website has a searchable database of all development projects, enabling users to search by area and project type. News listing functionality enables website users to keep abreast of the latest developments and is fully controllable via the CMS.

Web Copywriting and online marketing services, are provided to ensure a steady stream of website visitors able to appreciate the value of the regeneration project.

The Result:
In July 2006, three months after the site went live, Innovation Digital was awarded the contract to implement an online marketing campaign and deliver web copywriting services for Clyde Waterfront.  Since then, visitor traffic has increased almost four-fold.  The most significant increase in visitor numbers took place in the first few months, but since then, a steady increase in visitor numbers has been achieved.

When comparing May 2008 data against May 2007, there is an increase in visitor numbers of 11%, with Search Engine traffic increasing by 15%.  93% of the relevant search terms appear on the first two pages of Google. Visitors come from all over the world; in fact 109 different countries have sent visitors to the site in the last twelve months.

More recently the CMS has been extended to develop a new education resource for teachers and schools to create Clyde Waterfront Education.
