From 1st April 2009, Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas registration scheme in Great Britain and the Isle of Man. The register exists to protect UK consumers and properties from dangerous gas work.

The Brief:
Innovation Digital was tasked to deliver the official consumer website for the Gas Safe Register. The website was to be an information portal that would advise consumers of the replacement of the Corgi gas registration scheme by the Gas Safe Register and educate them about gas safety in the home. As this website was aimed toward the UK public at large, it was vital that the website was highly user centred, enabling consumers to find information with ease. Stringent project management procedures were required to ensure delivery within tight timescales and budget.

The Solution:
The website, which launched on the 1st April to coincide with the official brand launch, was developed on Alterian's Immediacy Web Content Management System (WCMS) V.6.1. The site integrates with a database of registered gas engineers and businesses enabling consumers to check for suitable suppliers in their area. Consumers can also learn more about gas safety and share their experiences with others. Innovation Digital worked closely with the client to successfully manage and build the technical deliverable of the project, adhering to strict timescales and budget. Training on the website's content management system was delivered to enable staff to maintain the website content going forward.

The Results:
The new website and delivery of service has been very positively received by Capita's web team.

The website is one of many platforms designed to raise awareness and inform consumers about the new Gas Safe Register in the UK. The brand is being actively publicised throughout the country across National TV, National Newspaper, Billboard and Radio.
