Agency life: An interview with graduate Nicola
The very talented, smart and epic Nicola Beaton joined Team ID around 6 months ago as a Project Executive, we thought we’d do a bit of Q & A to find out what she thinks of her first 6 months of agency life
What did you do before you joined ID?
“I graduated in 2016 with a degree in Media and Communication. After graduating, I was working as a member of retail management at Dr Martens alongside volunteering and work experience in the creative sector and I’ve also been volunteering with Oxjam Glasgow Takeover charity music festival since 2016 … and have been their Marketing Manager for the past year.”
What have you been up to in your first 6 months?
“I’ve been involved in a variety of projects, learning a lot along the way from social media content planning to the delivery of content for a global website project, as well as supporting the project team on other projects. I have been settling into agency life and learning about the various stages of digital projects along the way.”
What’s been your biggest challenge so far?
“I think coming from a retail background, it was initially challenging to get into the flow of working in an agency environment full time but I have settled in so well now! Any new job is a bit challenging to start but the team have made me completely at ease.”
What’s your favourite thing about working at ID?
“Team ID! I work with an amazing group of people who have supported me since my first day and have helped me along the way, no matter how small or silly my questions have been.”
What do you want to do next / Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
“I am hoping to develop more here at ID and get more involved with different aspects of projects. I feel really motivated for the future and I am excited to grow my career with ID.”
