Driving results for a new breed of dram
Kingsbarns Distillery is St. Andrew’s only whisky distillery; and having opened in 2014 it’s one of the youngest in the country too. As a new distillery in Scotland’s whisky scene, Kingsbarns needed a new website that would reflect their story and passion whilst providing a platform for members and selling merchandise.
Working with their design agency, we built and launched a site with full ecommerce functionality, tour booking facilities and exclusive members area, ensuring Kingsbarns had all the digital presence they needed to drum up some interest among whisky enthusiasts.
To build an engaging online site that catered for all users, including distillery visitors, online buyers, whisky lovers and Kingsbarns members.
Following a series of website workshops, we began the build period and helped to commercialise the brand’s vision. Collaborating with Kingsbarns and their dedicated design agency we took their ideas, vision and needs into consideration and built an attractive, engaging and functional site.
Developing an ecommerce system, booking engine and founders club area which would work in their chosen platform (Umbraco), we took each of the users’ needs into consideration, while always remembering Kingsbarns’ commitment and passion to one of Scotland’s best loved drinks.
The site therefore offers the best balance of a content rich brochure site and functional, easy to use online store. Meaning users can enjoy reading about Kingsbarns Distillery or buying a little piece of the brand for themselves.
The site has been a great success with the visitor bookings up every month due to search rankings for things to do in fife and also the Member’s Club sales generating a 4 times the level of ROI in the first 6 months.
