Brand articulation, Design and Digital
West Lothian College offers a wide range of further and higher education courses to over 6,000 students each year and employs over 350 staff. Their mission is to develop a highly skilled and enterprising workforce and their website, brand guidelines and various marketing materials are crucial aspects of how they communicate courses, services and facilities available at the college.
Where Learners Can
Our knowledge and experience of colleges and the education sector put us in a strong position to win the initial website project against tough competition and our experience of and passion for building brands allowed us to subsequently win the brand articulation project to develop the colleges positioning and create consistency across their many brand assets; culminating in the development of the creative platform “Where Learners Can”, alongside the creation of brand, tone of voice and photography guidelines. The brand positioning and the guidelines we created provide the foundation to ensure a consistency in style and of tone for any and all future creative communications for the college.
Advertising, Design and Print
The brand articulation project extended to designing outdoor advertising, signage and social media assets based on the new positioning of the college and we’ve just finished work on a number of printed materials including their new 2018/19 prospectus.
A user-centred responsive website
Fresh photography was commissioned for the website and prospectus projects that feature students of West Lothian College in their typical setting and surroundings to help bring college life to life.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) services including keyword analysis, alongside Category Testing help maximise findability and usability of the website. The new website integrates with Capita UNIT-e: A Management Information System for Further Education that provides access to the courses available at West Lothian College through its API. The website automatically pulls course data into our Umbraco Content Management System each night to allow for fast performance of the course information and the ability for the marketing team to copy edit content via the CMS.
